Lectio Divina Process:
3rd reading: Respond- Listen to your own heart for something that you want to express to God in response to the meanings and observations you are hearing. If you desire, share a reverent gratitude, petition or lament that you would like God and your siblings gathered with you to hear. After the 3rd Sharing, Share the Silence: Rest in God- Hold a quiet space to listen to God speaking in your heart, beyond words.
We are the body of our Lord.
Where two or three of us are gathered in His name,
We are the living Word of God.
We are the Hands and feet of Jesus
We're called to walk the road He walked.
Reach-ing out to heal each other
reach-ing out with love.
God works in ways beyond our knowing
His spirit often moves unseen
May God in all His gracious wisdom
Let His will live in me to day
5 For we do not proclaim ourselves; we proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and ourselves as your slaves for Jesus' sake.
6 For it is the God who said, "Let light shine out of darkness," who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 7 But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that it may be made clear that this extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us. 8 We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be made visible in our bodies. 11 For while we live, we are always being given up to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus may be made visible in our mortal flesh. 12 So death is at work in us, but life in you.
Lord's Prayer (recited together). |
Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. for thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory, forever and ever. Amen.
Closing Prayer
Your hand is upon your people, O God,
to guide and protect them through the ages.
Keep in your service those you have called and anointed,
that the powers of this world may not overwhelm us,
but that, secure in your love, we may carry out your will
in the face of all adversity. Amen.
